Suzanne is a dedicated educator and Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the City College of New York, where she is also Chair of the Music Department. Over the years, Suzanne has trained many jazz vocalists in the art of improvisation, sharing her own journey as an improvisor and methodology for learning the jazz instrumental language. This methodology has been documented in an upcoming book entitled Connecting the Changes: Resources for Jazz Vocalists, where she assists vocalists in developing the musicianship necessary to sing through the chord changes of a tune. Suzanne is available for master classes and workshops in university jazz programs and private jazz vocal classes.
